At least 82 percent of shoppers worldwide between 26 and 35 years old had purchased fashion online in the previous 12 months, according to an August 2022 survey. This was the age range showing the highest fashion e-commerce usage rate.
The per capita expenditure on apparel is expected to reach INR 6,400 by 2023, rising from INR 3,900 in 2018. Therefore, the total Indian apparel consumption expenditure is expected to grow to INR 9.35 Lac Crores by 2023
According to the results of a survey about the average monthly expenditure on apparel among Indians as of May 2019, by ProdegeMR, around 35 percent of respondents spent an average of between INR 701 and INR 1,700pm on clothing during the survey period.
